Kundalini Yoga is referred to by many as the yoga of Awareness. As Kundalini Yoga is also a scientific process (based on ancient teaching brought to the west by Yogi Bahjan in the 1960’s), the classes are taught using Kriyas (sets) for specific results. The focus can vary from Liver Detoxification, to Relieving Anger, or even Strengthening the Back. Exercises are timed and are followed in a set order...much like a recipe. Mantra (repeated words/phrases), Exercises (movements and held asanas/poses), Relaxation (integration space) and Meditation (highest form of communication reception) are part of every class. Catherine is most intensely trained in this style of yoga and prefers to practice these Kryias in her personal practice. Integration Yoga will be relying on the asanas(poses) of Hatha Yoga with gentle movement and focused breathing with special attention to the positioning of the body in various positions. There will be time for relaxation to integrate all the movement into the body/mind. The intention of each class will be to loosen up specific parts of the body (ie. Spine, hips, shoulders) as well as effect the entire vessel to promote awareness of how you hold stress and where more balance is required.
Self Expressions Sessions
A Fun Playful, and Safe environment is
provided to explore your own creative expressions! Catherine draws on her years of performance training/experience/and exploration to provide a nurtuting atmosphere for Creativity to FLOW! Sessions include activities to assist in finding that unique part of your person, and EXPRESSING IT!
